Donna's Art Journey
First Friday at the Art Bank

Well….We had our event, Yay Indy 58!, at the Art Bank yesterday. We had great participation. And as Ken Rader, our event connection and source said…”We will feed hungry patrons of the arts”. And we did. We gave out free hamburgers, hotdogs, brownies, water, wine and beer. One of our participants even built a wall for some art to hang outside. I took my piece over at about 1:00 p.m. and sat and talked with Dan Haynes who is the owner and operator of the Art Bank for about an hour and a half. I looked at the art, talked about the art. Dan showed me his pieces and told me how they were done. Very cool. He works mostly in metal and a torch and has a piece in Switzerland, I think he said. Dan is a very nice man and really made me feel at ease. I got to know the other artists and talk about art a lot which is so stimulating to my creative mind. I stayed up LATE, lol, and took poor Ken along for the ride! I was so busy socializing The only pictures I got were 2 that my daughter took of me standing by my painting. I will have to find out who took some I am sure there were a few.A fascinating fact about the Art Bank is that John Dillinger once robbed it and most of the original fixtures, the tellers cages…the vault…are still intact…very cool. I will post some photo’s soon.
