I painted this after a weekend of learning the Chakra’s and some meditation during my 200 hour Yoga certification training. I have been feeling the creative urge this past week. It really started bubbling over and I was happy to be back at the easel for some fun time.
This took 35-40 minutes. I used a 8B graphite pencil. I like the soft pencils. With control I can get a lot complete. I also like the gray smudges it leaves over my drawing because I use those for my middle tones and then I erase with a retractable eraser to highlight.
I was itching to do SOMETHING! I just started doodling with my Prismacolor pencils. I like the colors.
“Mountain Flowers” complete, acrylic on canvas. By: Donna A. Tomich
Mountain Flowers may be done! Acrylic on canvas.
The Awakening, acrylic on canvas. Something I did on Christmas eve.
Lovin my colors.
What was said to the rose that made it open was said
to me here in my chest.
What was told the cypress that made it strong
and straight, what was
whispered the jasmine so it is what it is, whatever made
sugarcane sweet, whatever
was said to the inhabitants of the town of Chigil in
Turkestan that makes them
so handsome, whatever lets the pomegranate flower blush
like a human face, that is
being said to me now. I blush. Whatever put eloquence in
language, that's happening here.
The great warehouse doors open; I fill with gratitude,
chewing a piece of sugarcane,
in love with the one to whom every that belongs!
